A simple switch on our generator needed replacing. One 15 minute visit to diagnose and one 30 minute visit to install, done by his assistant who found it was really a loose wire that needed attaching. Not the switch at all. We were gouged for 3.5 hours of labor, and he tried to tell us two things needed critical help on our main engine, one of which had just been done by a yard we trust. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We are on a boat doing the Great Loop and when we arrived in Georgetown I noticed an issue with a cooling hose on our Volvo engine. I called A and M and Michael answered and I explained the situation. He asked for some photos and he called me back and advised me not to run the engine until the hose was replaced. Just got off the phone with Michael. He talked me OUT of spending money with him and to wait until service was actually needed. If only all mechanics were as honest as him. No scare tactics. When I need service I’ll be giving him a call back.
Extraordinary ripoff. Sold us a $25 blower, two 45 minute visits, total charge $1,581. Run, don’t walk from these guys.
Came into Georgetown as a stop on the ICW and had unexpected engine trouble. Mike at A&M offered to quickly dispatch his best mechanic, Mendi, within an hour of phoning him. Mendi spent the time and energy to diagnose our issue and we are thankful for the prompt and professional service.
