I have been thoroughly unsatisfied with A and L Plumbing and Piping. The owner and head plumber are nice guys, and that’s the reason for 2 stars. Otherwise, I’d steer clear. We’ve called A and L for an emergency job last year. We were new to town and there was a card in the previous owner’s file. They opened up a wall, left a large mess, said they couldn’t come back for 10 days. We ended up using a different plumber to wrap up the job. Super professional and efficient! Had a problem at my apartment with sewage coming up out of the bathtub drain that maintenance couldn't figure out -- called A and L Plumbing and they came out at 8:30 PM on a Sunday and completely fixed the problem. The plumber was super considerate (made sure not to drag any equipment over my carpet) and he stayed until almost 11:00 PM making sure everything worked. I havent had good luck in the past with both the plumbing in my house, and the plumbers that come out to investigate the problem. The City of Durham didn't even have a clue with my most recent issue. I was fortunately recommended by a coworker to reach out to A and L Plumbing for their help. The second my call was answered, I knew this time was different.
