We have worked with this firm for the past two years. It started off fine but over the past 6 to 8 months they are very unresponsive and making a lot of mistakes. They have held up many of our projects up to over 4 months costing us 10's of thousands of dollars in holding cost. On several occasions we have had to hire a new engineer to redo work that he did incorrectly to obtain a permit to build. They don't respond and when they do, they don't get the work done or it continually comes back incorrect.
Takla Engineering, after initially conducting a comprehensive structural engineering report for the crawlspace of our 1920s home, held the crawl space company's feet to the fire and would not sign off on their work until it was perfect. Fred Takla probably saved us a lot of future (huge) headaches by preventing foundation issues that would almost certainly have occurred during/after our planned interior renovation.
We are first time home owners, first time getting a structural inspection done since the general inspection already showed a crack in the foundation. We hoped that the professionally done foundation inspection would give us a detailed review and leave us lesser ignorant about the whole crack thing. So but it took the guy just 3 mins to inspect and give us his review. A A Takla is always responsive and on time which is a huge deal when it comes to residential renovations. CQC Home thoroughly enjoys partnering with them for our engineering needs. Elizabeth runs the administrative side of things seamlessly and gracefully. Her and Atef are a dynamic team!!
