Warning if you value your moving items. Last June my mother hired Mayflower (owned by A1A Atlantic) as her moving company solely because of the Mayflower reputation. Though the quoted price price was much higher than the estimate of other companies, my mom decided to go with Mayflower because she was assured by Joni Elliott, the agent she worked with, that with a $50,000 dollars insurance, my mother had nothing to worry about. Horrible experience with this company. I had another company move me in but couldn't remember who they were, so I called A1A because they are a Mayflower franchise and national brand. I figured they would be reasonable, professional, and boy was I wrong! When I moved in, for a VERY similar move to moving out, I was charged about $375 and they completed the entire move in about 3 hours. On the phone, Alex - the owner of A1A told me 3 guys at $115/hour for 3 - 4 hours plus 1 hour drive time. This was clearly more expensive but... read more
