I ordered a plain bagel with honey walnut cream cheese, and when I got home to eat it, I had only gotten a little under halfway finished with it when I realized there was a pebble sized piece of HARD METAL in the cream cheese. This wasn’t a piece of aluminum foil, and I know this because as I was chewing, that’s when I noticed something wasn’t right because it wasn’t chewable!! Without question, this is the best bagel bakery in the Des Moines Metro. New Yorkers will be satisfied here. Bagels are consistently great, wide variety, high-quality cream cheese, great coffee, wonderful staff, and today a fun and generous 10 year anniversary celebration.
Dutch letter latte was very good though not hot enough. Sausage and egg sandwich was similar to what I’d expect from a chain coffee place. Bagel was not chewy and the sandwich lacked flavor. No cream cheese on the sandwich so it was a bit dry. Precooked sausage patty. Cheese looked nice but the bagel was a major disappointment. Egg was pretty good and the sandwich was quite filling. Overall not bad but disappointingly average.
