Wonderful place to stay, great location in walking distance of lots to do. Very homey feel with delicious breakfast. Southern hospitality at its finest, we will definitely be back.
Nice place to stay with a free parking spot as well. If you are looking for a old charming Charleston spot to stay. 22 Charlotte will be the perfect stay. You will stay by Vaughn and share the nice old building. It's her home, with her rules. It's not a regular hotel, so you have to follow the rules. I would say that's easy. In staying at 22 Charlotte, one never forgets for a moment that one is in the home of Vaughn, whose whims and temper govern all. We arrived at 22 Charlotte in the afternoon, having to endure an immediate and hostile tongue lashing from Vaughn. This was the reason: we had originally planned to fly to Charleston and had made an arrangement to drop our luggage off on arrival for a $25 (prepaid) fee. The owner met us outside and then showed us around the beautiful historic house.She explained all the very minor rules. Ie. locking the door and recycling. We got settled in our room and then went to dinner. Vaughn was welcoming and very knowledgeable of the area. She’s a true outspoken southern lady, which we found to be part of the unique experience. Great time all around beautiful home. This was my birthday surprise from my amazing boyfriend , he did very well!
