I am highly disappointed in the service of the innkeeper. We rented out the venue for my wedding. Not once did Julie come say hello, welcome us to the place, or even say goodbye at checkout. She walked past us and didn’t acknowledge us when we tried to talk to her. The E.A. house is worth a 5 star review for its location and even rooms. Julie did have it spotless for our arrival and wedding weekend, we are just sad she’s not a friendly person for such a lovely place. This location is managed by a company that manages several properties in the Charleston area. I called to make the reservation, but on my day of travel I discovered that I was not booked at 21 East battery, I had been booked at another property 30 minutes away. I called several times, was provided the managers contact information and was unable to reach her. She never answered the telephone. I worked through a front desk person, who spoke to the manager, to clarify the issue and was told I could not stay at 21 East Battery b... read more

We spent two days at 21 East Battery Street in the Carriage House Suite in May 2024. It was absolutely LOVELY!! The Historic Carriage House was all ours - we had so much space! The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was pre-stocked with numerous goodies for breakfast. Julie was such a kind and informative hostess. Everything was ready when we arrived, so she allowed us to check in a little early - which was a blessing! She gave us the complete tour and provided her number in case we needed anything. Cole and Mike were outstanding. The location and room were wonderful. We were greeted warmly on a late arrival. Bottle of bubbly in our room for our anniversary trip. Bathroom, bed, linens and room were wonderful.

Best place ever! My daughter and I recently had our annual Mother/Daughter trip in Charleston. This was our first stay at 21East Battery but I hope it’s not our last! The location and views can’t be beat, the entire place was cozy and relaxing, and Julie is absolutely AMAZING!!! The scratch made quiche, the banana nut bread and the muffins…oh my!
