First of all, I debated over multiple options from several brands and landed on 1UP due to the seemingly endless repair parts. I put a lot of stock into a company that offers replacement "consumables" vs having to throw the unit as a whole into the trash. The quality is top notch and assembly was non-existent, I fully expected to spend the evening piecing this together like an erector set and was pleasantly surprised to open the box to a fully assembled unit. The new add on lock is a decent product but at $89 I’m not so sure. It was a bit hard to install. Trying to slide in the mounting pin is not as easy as it sounds. You can buy a much stronger (thicker) after market receiver lock pin for $25 that won’t break so easy using a pipe for leverage. Never the less, extra protection to prevent someone from stealing the bike rack is a good idea.

I bought the 1UP heavy duty rack and couldn't be happier with the rack or customer support. One of the arms was damaged in shipping and within just a couiple days of reaching out I had new parts and was back in service. I could rave about how great the finish is, or how easy it is to load and unload bikes, or how secure it holds bikes but my favorte thing about the 1UP is how much more time I actually spend on the bike. Products are wonderful. The customer service is lacking significantly. It could just be a training issue, but when calling their team, the individual who answered the call was dismissive and belittling. They need to train their customer service folks how to interact with customers.
