We had a fantastic trip to the Black Hills and our stay at the 1899 Inn was a key part of our trip. On our annual summer adventure ride this year we always look for a unique and fun place to stay to add to the experience. Although it's an older house it has all of the modern conveniences and upgrades to make our group more than comfortable without losing the charm of the historical house that we were looking for. Aaron and his 1899 Inn was the perfect spot for our group. The house and cottage fit all 11 of us. The breakfasts... read more

After years and years of staying at mediocure hotels with the same muffins in plastic wrap, this place was a real treat. A beautiful, large, old restored home with interesting antiques in a quiet neighborhood Delightful hosts. A scrumptious, homemade breakfast served in the dining room on fine china. I'm talking fresh baked bread with homemade jam from fruit grown on the property yumminess. Beer and wine in the evenings available for a small donation. It was so nice to leave the "craziness" of Deadwood for the quiet luxury o... read more

I spent more time in that shower than in the incredibly comfortable bed (and that bed was very cozy). The water pressure, the warmth, the ambiance—it was pure bliss. After a long day exploring Deadwood, it felt like a spa retreat ... read more

Short walk to downtown Deadwood. Excellent breakfast cooked every morning and the owners are friendly and full of information about the history of the house and things around Deadwood. We stayed in the Attic Suite, which was huge with an awesome bathroom.

My husband and I stayed here eight and a half years ago on our honeymoon. The hosts were very hospitable, and the entire house was very clean and absolutely gorgeous. I would highly recommend staying at least one night here if you plan to make a stop in Deadwood, South Dakota!
