We enjoyed this trip through the Black Hills quite a bit. Comfortable seats, friendly staff and great views.
I took the ride in 2017 in May and it was fun. I liked riding on a train. However, the boarding process was a nightmare with people shoving and pushing to get on.And when you try to sit down, people would yell "those seats are saved" every time...like 6 to 8 seats when I tried to sit down with my daughter. We were stuck sitting behind the snack cart and facing the wall of the front car. Most of the rude people seemed to be of middle American descent. Probably won't do the ride again because of the unruly passengers
Expensive, but unique experience. Would have enjoyed more history/commentary.
