Recently sold, ownership did not handle the pending transition well. The services we paid for originally were changed. All in all, I look forward to seeing this place after the renovations. Walking distance from a small coffee shop, lovely quiet street. This location was perfect to walk to and from dinner. Appsolutly love this city, a must go for foodies and historical buffs.

We booked 1837 after extensive research to find the right B&B. Unfortunately, they recently changed hands, so the homemade breakfasts that changed daily and the afternoon tea that led us here, are a thing of the past that we didn't get to experience. They did send out emails warning of the changes, but by that point, there weren't many other options, so we kept the reservation. They will be undergoing extensive reservations over the summer, so whatever review I leave will be outdated by fall. They would do well to bring back... read more

We booked the 1837 for our 50th wedding anniversary and was it memorable! We have been at B&B's from Maine to California and this was by far the worst!All communications prior to arrival were so detailed, it made me question why? The answer is zero hospitality. No one to greet us upon arrival, all problems or questions were to be handled by text, email or phone call. For the four night stay we never saw anyone!
