Was visiting Vermont for the Fall colors and stopped here for breakfast. Food and service was good. When we asked for the check she asked if we were staying there - said no. She said they weren’t open to the public (who weren’t staying there). No sign or anything that would have told us that. She then charged us $74 for breakfast for 2. Food was good- but it was a rip off!

Very satisfactory experience all around, including delicious breakfasts, a very comfortable mattress, and a truly satisfying shower (great water pressure and wide coverage from the showerhead). The hosts were welcoming and helpful, without being intrusive. The inn was only a few miles from the wedding venue, and had several good food options nearby, as well as the truly enjoyable Madsonian Museum of Industrial Design.

Very lovely 4 night stay! Very comfortable room, delicious breakfast and very warm hospitality from Farrell and Sean. Highly recommend!

We love this Inn! We had a pet room this time and it was great. Very clean, beautiful white linens, with a slider to a little patio. Sean and Farrell are very personable and accommodating innkeepers with years of experience in the business. They know what you want. (In my case that was eggs benedict every morning - served with steaming hot coffee.) Added perks are the animals: Allie and Benny, the welcoming dogs, and Fern and Willow, the friendly goats. We will definitely stay at the 1824 again!

We had a wonderful stay at 1824! Beautiful Inn. Our room was quiet and very comfortable bed. Hosts were delightful and served a delicious breakfast. There is a menu to choose items from and is included in the rate. Highly recommend!!
