do not book - it is not luxury - bed past use by date - those awful big hard pillows - not enough glasses, no extras - you can hear neighbours including flushing toilets
Possibly the best place to stay in 1770. We had not been here for 10 years and it is the same as we remembered it. Excellent!
My partner and I recently stayed in the Java room, and will unfortunately not be staying again. Whilst the location is fantastic, within walking distance to beaches and cafes, the room and kitchen were sub-standard. The kitchen has very limited utensils and no cooking facilities. There was one electric fry pan, but that's all. A simple 2 plate stove and a pot and frying pan would be appreciated. If I could give zero I would. Booked and received confirmation email and texted but turned up and place is deserted. No one answering calls. Now trying to get a refund with Expedia. Mail stuffed in the door shows they haven’t been there for a week and still advertising on a range of platforms and their website availability. Paid $414 for the penthouse and having seen the place - not worth half. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.
We travel a lot and this was definitely the worst place ever. We booked the penthouse through wotif and upon reaching there, no onsite support was available. Upon entering the room, it smelled like dust and we were getting suffocated. The loft is so congusted and no lights where 2 people are supposed to sleeps. Cobwebs and dead cockroaches everywhere. The ladder to go to the loft is very unsafe, I am not sure how that was allowed in Australia. Either ways, the loft was covered in dust and I started having breathing difficult... read more
