I was connected through the VA Community Care with 1000 Hills Recovery Center and the director Pinky more than a year ago to receive help with my PTSD, anxiety and depression due my time in the GulfWar. Pinky was very pleasant, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. She made me feel confident that she would find me a therapist. After being bounced around from provider to provider, I sought treatment elsewhere and tried various offices before I was referred to 1000 Hills. As a female veteran. As a woman whose life did a complete 360. As someone who never imagined a year of therapy with my therapist would truly, genuinely, change my life for the best. I’m blessed to have been referred out in town to this company. To be trusted, listened to, heard, and not just put aside. I’ve been surviving and not living. As a veteran I was in a bad place a couple of years ago and couldn't get help at VA because they were over booked and had no providers that I could see. So I was given the choice to go through 12000 hills and I have since kept myself out of the in-patient status at VAs famous 3C ward. Pinky had me come in weekly and soon I was able to work with Ms Barnes one of the staff, at first 2 times a week until I felt to be more stable.
