Got a bid for painting and fan installation. Dave showed up on time and completed both projects quickly and efficiently. He gave me the bill and it was for less than the bid. I questioned this as I was quite happy with the bid and he said it took him less than time than he had thought and so he adjusted it. I paid him more than the bill but less than the bid and felt very good about giving him a bit more for being honest.
