Overall my mother and I highly recommend Pack Rat. We coordinated an East coast move from RI to FL. Their pricing beats traditional moving companies by more than 50%. We needed the smallest pod and same day drop off to load and pick up. The only hiccup in the process was that the timing of the pick up (8pm) was not possible and we were not notified until 4 days before the move. This meant we had to change the movers arrival time. The total ended up being a little bit more than I was originally quoted. However, when I asked about it they gave me a full refund for the difference. It's been a pleasure working with them.
I strongly recommend staying away from this moving company. What should have been a straightforward moving experience turned into a frustrating and stressful ordeal. From unexpected extra charges to the company missing the scheduled delivery (2 days late) and pickup (3 days late and counting) of the moving container, the entire process was poorly handled. Customer beware, you're in for the worst service. Save yourself the time and money. Not only was my pod delayed, but they never bothered to notify us about the delays. When I went to call, the wait times were around an hour, and still I have no pod. The customer service is so hit or miss, with one person literally cutting me off and hanging up on me. I have hated every minute of this experience.
If I could give them negative stars I would. Not only were they supposed to deliver our pod days ago, but they never called or emailed and updated us. We understand that things happen, but the professional thing to do is to communicate when delays happen. We never received updates on delays, and instead, had to call and wait for hours on hold, each time the promised delivery date came and went.
