This guy is a bitter and rude person. I never have a good feeling that he actually wants to help... he works alone and i think he gets overwhelmed just by seeing you coming to his shop. I had work done by him on my car and I do not recommend him. He is over priced and unpleasant as a business person to deal with. As for his knowledge, he is ok but ambiguous and over priced.

Al is the best! I've been bringing all of my cars to Al for over 20 years. He's knowledgeable and efficient...most of my issues are resolved in one day! I don't even live in Oakland any more, and I still bring my vehicles in to Al, I trust him that much.

A friendly, expert, "old-school" indie mechanic who's been in business since 1972. My first time using him (for 120,000-mile routine service), and he did a solid job with full explanation of everything he did.

certainly less expensive than the other car shops around. Yuen fixed my brake problem quickly and professionally in one day. the man works very hard and is a wonderful part of our community

I have known the owner for years and trusted al to take care of my cars for about 20 years. About a year ago I noticed tat the work that I hired him to do was not being done, but Al was still charging me and he was inflating his prices. I took my car to a new mehcanic and found that 85% of the work Yuen did was not done but he charged my for it.
