A decent, competent, counselor is one who is willing to go to court, stand in front of a judge and testify, if that is what it takes to stop a parent or guardian from emotionally abusing a child. Youth Villages counselors, with a few exceptions, are definitely not that. I was a resident here they are absolutely terrible they mistreat there clients putting residents in what they call holds by bending them between two staff and twisting there arms like that is gonna teach a lesson it just teaches kids to fear authority youth villages facilities caused me to grow up now a 26 year old with ptsd and authority issues because how I was treated I don't know your experiences but take this from someone who was a actual resident and experienced these things first hand
