I stayed here in the early 80s when I was 15. Things were a lot different back then. Compared to where I had come from- I had a great experience. I moved to Mercita Hall from here and onto foster care. We were all a big group of kids who leaned on one another and got through everything together. I knew how to cut hair, so I cut everyones hair. We took turns cooking meals, and they gave us all types of bus tickets, we ran around the city unsupervised all day visiting the museums, arch, zoo- a lot of fun things. We didnt have ... read more
