Local Paint Store I decided to try my hand at faux painting and went here for the supplies. The staff took the time to teach me what I needed to know, (I did Ragging) and helped with color choice. I know the job turned out as well as it did because of their advise, even though I had taken a class in the technique at a local night school. The color choice is very important and Young had displays of the different combinations which helped me select the best colors. This is an example of a great local business!
Very helpful I am a new home owner in town with no experience in painting or wallpapering. Luckily, I stopped in to see what Young Paint & Varnish had in their store. The staff was so helpful and gave me expert advice on what to do. (Also they took their time helping me which is something Home Depot does not do.) My wife was impressed by their huge wallpaper selection which will be our next project. I will definitely be coming back here.
Old and stale I had a similar experience as Anthony B. This place is stale. The guy that worked there the day I went in was not informed or concerned about going green. He did want my green dollars, though, but he didn't get them. lol
#RUDE Outdated & regressive: When I asked the 60ish clerk about Low VOC paints, I had to explain it to him. He practically rolled his eyes and exclaimed, "All paints are safe." Oh, really? I ended up making a purchase ELSEWHERE. Very rude.
