Vehicle taxes are at a higher percentage than real estate with added import fees if the vehicle came from one out of state such as North Carolina. The astronomically high taxes should provide enough for roads to be better maintained but our roads are worse now than ever before.
I went here yesterday to pay taxes and they were friendly and fast. Definitely a smooth process.
Next to the YC Treasurer’s office is the Auditor’s office. If you own a primary residence in York County and are 65+ years old, this is where you can go to apply for a Homestead credit on your property tax. 👍
