I go there several times per week. The Yims are very nice people.
Yims Variety Store absolutely never answers their phone. Even though the owner is literally sitting right next to it most of the day. I know convenient stores are more expensive also but their prices on the most popular items are at least 2X the price of a super market. The store is convenient for me but the woman owner could definitely use some charm school lessons on her personality problem but her husband is very kind.
