I recently made a return with yd. Melbourne Central, and the sales assistant with the curly red hair demanded that I provide my email for the receipt. Upon doing so, the next morning I have marketing emails in my inbox. I would like to clarify that the collection of my email for the intent of the receipt was consented to, however the subscription towards marketing which is an opt-in process is highly illegal. yd. would be found in breach of Section 16(1) of the Spam Act 2003, as a result of these actions.
