Rude and Expensive 1st visit to The Yarn Barn: I walked in and inquired about Noro Yarn (my absolute favorite) and received the response in an unnerving loud rude tone "Um, we WON'T and DON'T deal with Noro, the distributor is difficult and they don't care." A simple "sorry, we don't carry Noro but let me show you some comparable yarns" would have sufficed. Worth My Time! I first discovered the Yarn Barn in Lawrence, KS. in 1973, and though I've shopped for yarn all over the country, I still come back to them...even on-line. Their selection is top notch, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the shop atmosphere stimulates creativity, and their pricing discount structure is competitive. When I can get back to KS. I make them a designated stop. They are worth the trip!
Excellent store The selection at Yarn Barn is excellent, the employees are knowledgeable, and they offer a variety of classes every season in knitting, crochet, weaving, and spinning. They carry supplies for all of these crafts. It's also nice that they will wind purchased hanks of yarn into balls - it's a nice touch that many yarn stores don't offer.
Best Yarn Store! The Yarn Barn is hands-down the best yarn store I have ever been to. It is located in downtown Lawrence and offers a huge selection of yarns and other needlework accessories. The Yarn Barn also offers many classes for the beginner or the professional. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly.
Great selection! This a great place for beginners and experienced needleworkers, knitters, and crafters. They have a friendly staff that will help you find exactly what you are looking for. What a great selection, they have every color under the sun, and in every size and quanitity. A little pricey, but worth it for the great products! They also offer classes for those interested!
Yarn barn An amazing and elaborate collection of some of the finest cashmere and angora yar. They carry yarn spun from a variety of other materials, spinning wheels, knitting and crochet supplies. They are relatively expensive but worth the price if you are an enthusiast. They are actually known in the area as a fine yarn store.
