I discovered The Woods 12 years ago, bought my home and have lived here happily ever since. Our community used to be owned by outside entities but since 2021, all 109 households own The Woods. We are the first of our kind in California and we have much pride in our efforts to govern and support all members here. We came up here to visit friends that live in the area, and fell in love with the Mendocino coast. We saw our house for sale in a realtor’s window, drove to look at it and ended up moving in 3 months later. We love our home, the people, the many activities, the music, and that we live in the woods, but close to the Beach, town, and wineries. We also have a nice pool, hot tub, and clubhouse.
I have no idea what that one star review is about. I really don’t like when people leave a bad rating and also give no feedback as to why they didn’t like something—it’s immature and irresponsible. The Woods is a unique spot in the world...unpretentious but beautifully conceived and executed. A nice retirement community in a country setting. All modular homes and most have detached garages. There is also a large community room suitable for parties or banquets. Indoor pool also.
A very healthy beautiful place to live. This community is conscientious about the environment as well as creating a wonderful place for seniors to call home.
