Absolutely the most overpriced lumber I’ve ever seen. The guy at the counter hounded me for my email information while I wanted to pay cash and get enough spam calls already, and then told me how disappointed I’d be at “one of those amish lumberyards.” Very unprofessional, and let’s just say my trip to the amish yard yielded a massive selection, better customer service, and literally 75% cheaper prices. My experience spans the Downingtown store location, woodcraft website, and woodriver products. We ordered the woodriver floating shelf brackets based on the recommendations of a sales associate. The store has a printed out placard stating these require ⅜ lag bolts to fasten to the wall, and the employee also stated so. We first special ordered the 22” heavy duty brackets. I haven't been to an Honest-to-God Craftsman's store since I was a little girl. Both of my grandfather's had fully operational shops in their homes and my weekends were spent between lumber yards, hardware stores and Craftsman Suppliers. Everything about the experience was nostalgic. The staff were delightful, personable, and knowledgeable. It was great that we didn't feel like we were being pushed into a sales pitch, or expected to make a purchase, nor did we feel inundated with information or suggestions.
