My son took around 6 months of speech therapy from Wonderland. Our SLP Kris gave us helpful information to communicate with him in normal situations. However, she never gave any possible ideas as to the cause, just that he wasn't developing as quickly as she would have thought (this is typical of kids with his condition). They need to encourage Wonderland SLPs to be more involved in the diagnostic process because it shouldn't have taken all of those months of therapy with very little information to go by. Our pediatrician referred us to them 6 months ago due to our concerns that our son just over 1 wasn’t talking much. At first it went well. They helped us teach our son some signs. Then at 1 year and a few months they suggested that he might have early signs of autism. A little early to judge that, but fine ok. In the following months they did very little to help him with speech suggesting nothing more than flash cards and doing more of what we are doing.
