There was nothing wrong with the shop itself. It’s beautiful beautifully laid out and well curated. It’s been a couple years since I’ve been there. The first time was the same as at least three years ago. The shop owner has the personality of an ashtray, no enthusiasm, no smile, no nothing! What a hidden gem! The store is a delight, with not just yarn and notions, also plants and coffees and teas! Stephanie graciously helped me fix a project that I’d been working on and needed help with, only wish I lived closer to this lovely spot!
I took a wonderful class on stranded color work , December 6th Given by Moira Anderson and not only was it an excellent class, but it was fun sitting down with other crafters working on projects together while Moira was assisting class participants, it felt welcoming and homey. The instructor (Moira) was Kind, patient and a very highly skilled professional. I strongly recommend this class and I’m looking forward to taking others that are coming up soon.
An excellent local yarn store that seems to be in the middle of nowhere, but that just shows what you know. We walked in on their Monday stitch session and came out with (1) a load of had-dyed yarn from their house brand, (2) a project bag that we could have filled with the cool notions we bought there, and (3) a load of knowledge about the local area, the NY Sheep & Wool Festival, and breed-specific yarns. I’ll definitely be heading back!
