They’re playing out the string in advance of the store closing and rebooting into an Aldi. They didn’t have any cashiers tonight, creating a line of 10 people around the side of the registers to use self-checkout. That’s not the idea of self-checkout. People were scanning entire carriages full of groceries. I feel sorry for the one front-end employee who could be bothered to show up today. This is really some ending to a belauguered, below-average grocery store.
