Mary has been great! I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
Sheila Johnson is incredible. Among her vast experience and credentials, she is an expert with somatic experiencing, a nationally recognized leader in the field. If you’re looking for general talk therapy, this is not it. If you have unprocessed trauma and are interested in the type of work described in books like The Body Keeps the Score or Waking the Tiger, you can find no better resource in the Midwest. Highly recommend.
Sheila was great until things seemingly got too serious. Towards the end of me seeing her, I had become very helpless and no longer saw a point in living. When this was brought up to her, she asked if I would willingly go to a hospital. I said no. So rather then handling the situation like a responsible therapist would, she ultimately told me that she believed life was ours to do with it as we pleased - including ending it.
