A wonderful place to be
I have been to Willowbend Retirement Community on numerous occasions as a visitor during their numerous events. I have had the opportunity to get to know and speak with a few of the residents, they all have conveyed to me how happy they are at Willowbend. I have also had the opportunity to tour the residence, see the rooms, and enjoy a few very delicious meals. See Ottawa Police report below!!! Beware! Paying $6K plus for Memory Care at Willowbend does not guarantee your loved one will receive the care required to keep them safe! Before deciding to place a loved one at Willowbend Memory Care I urge you to talk to family members of residents who are already placed on the floor. Do your homework. Ask questions. Ask to take a stroll on the memory care floor and observe!
My Mother was placed here in Memory Care. Please be careful when you put your loved ones in any Retirement homes Memory Care unit. Here at Willowbend is was a aweful experience. Door to residents room kept locked and there is no one to open the doors. So the resident is kept outside in the hallway all day. There was many times where residents were fighting and there were injuryies, the staff would run and lock themselfs in an office. Staff are definitely not trained properly.
