My favorite library in Cambridge! The atmosphere is amazing and you can easily focus on your readings. This memorial is inspiring and full of significance: hope we all follow this spirit of Magis for the studies as well for the justice and transformation of the world in a better place for all!
Widener Library loves to say it’s “open to the public,” but that’s basically false in any normal sense of the phrase. I showed up during posted open hours and was turned away at the door because I didn’t have a Harvard ID. Only then do you learn that “public access” actually means paying $50–$100 just for the privilege of entering the building, with no borrowing and limited use.
