With a few exceptions, the teaching is terrible/nonexistent. Professors abandon you to powerpoint videos. Some of the programming labs they assign haven't been updated in years. The programming languages and the architectures have moved on, so the labs don't even really work now. You have to guess figure out your own fixes. I often spend more time trying to figure out how to implement the poorly-written, often blurry, out-of-date directions than I do learning the concepts.
