Come into to do a simple withdraw at 930am and they had one staff member operating customer enquiries in a busy CBD absolutely terrible customer service Westpac

Westpac locked me out of my online account and told me I had to go to a branch to prove my identity. Of course, they have closed most of their branches. Had to make a trip into the city just for this. Arrived and there are EIGHT mostly elderly people lined up to see the ONE cashier. I waited over 45 minutes just to show him my ID. Typical of Australia’s banking monopoly - profit over people, every single time. I am closing down my westpac accounts and moving to an independent bank.

I went to the branch after noticing a fraudulent transaction on my account. The experience was very disappointing. On my first visit, staff told me to come back the next day. The following day, they said to return after 3 business days. When I came back a week later, they finally admitted they couldn’t help me at the branch and said everything had to be handled through the app. I insisted on speaking to someone senior and waited 30 minutes, only to be told to join the queue again.
