The mall was so great and now it’s all destroyed all the past we had that we went to the movies together and walk through the halls did little side cards step move by their self and electric cats and dogs it was great and now it’s demolished. I wonder what they’re gonna put in there. They should put a new mall, not condos that would be ridiculous.
This mall.has been closed. There are still shops and restaurants in the area. Clean and quiet mall. Movie theater, dining, shopping. Hope foot traffic picks up.
Update 2025: Sorry I’m a little late into posting this but the demolition of the Sarasota Square Mall began back in February 2025. The mall, initially opened in 1977, was the premier shopping destination in the Sarasota area. Over time, more stores like Sears and Dillard’s opened, and in the late 2000s, Dillard’s closes and was replaced with Costco in 2012, one of the two freestanding stores left.
