All consultants,doctor's and radiotherapy nurses are amazing all staff friendly and helpful
The staff are brilliant, but the buildings are a labyrinth, and poorly signed, so this might help other people be less stressed: Ward 6 is on the 1st floor of Edinburgh Breast Unit (findable on Google Maps, it's up a short 'side street' rather than going through the main ECC building which has doors that open only 9 to 5). The Day Bed Suite there is ALSO sometimes used for minor plastic surgery of all kinds, for example removing skin lesions from men, so don't be confused if you get a letter just saying Ward 6. I have been attending the Western General Hospital Edinburgh every weekday since the start of April at LA5 base for radiotherapy for prostate cancer. The staff have ALWAYS been fantastic, caring, and professional. and they always take the time to explain things and answer questions about the treatment, side effects, and the best ways to manage the radiation. I have no hesitation in recommending the WG, but i hope i do not have to keep visiting after May.
As with all the other reviews, I can't praise EVERYONE in the breast unit highly enough.They are so kind and friendly and if you want to you can have a bit of"banter"which takes you're mind off the gravity of the situation 🥲 Thank you all, you are amazing !!!!😇😇😇❤️❤️❤️
Recently received treatment at this hospital. There are no words that can describe the wonderful care I received from EVERY member of staff. I kept looking for signs of their wings as they are all truly angels. Thankyou.
