Our trouble with the IRS started due to a tax error from the accountant whom we contracted to file our tax. Trusting that he did his job accurately, I signed the completed version and it was mailed out. Months after filing that particular year's tax the IRS wrote us demanding to learn more about "$25,000 charitable donation" that was claimed we (my wife and I) made.
