Customer service was absolutely terrible. The behavior from the staff was very off-putting. There was next to no one in the store and not one of the four employees present took the time to acknowledge us. I came in ready to buy a couch for my new place, tested out multiple and still couldn’t get anyone to come over to offer help or answer any questions. Probably won’t be purchasing from west elm going forward.

After waiting a full month, I received an email from West Elm that our sofa order 353352283322 was canceled because the fabric was discontinued. To reorder the sofa, I had to make calls to push to get the original sale price honored, but was then told I would be charged an additional ~$80 for the same color using the replacement fabric now considered an “upgrade.” On top of that, the reorder would add several more weeks, if not months, to the delivery. Was interested in an ottoman, but the rude customer service was quite off putting. This is not a child friendly establishment, if any parents are interested in browsing this store. My 1 year old was interested in one of the plastic jingle bells that were part of a coffee table display. I made sure he was not going to damage anything, but the employee had to make a snarky remark. We promptly left due to the hostile vibes.
