Today I visited the Wells Fargo branch in West Orange to deposit a check in excess of $5,000 into my account. The teller assisting me, Rubeya, attempted to contact the issuing bank to verify the check and ultimately declined to accept the deposit with no reason given. I was not provided with a clear explanation as to why the deposit could not be processed, nor was I offered alternatives such as depositing the check with a standard hold, escalation to a supervisor or guidance on next steps. Always very pleasant and take good care of their customers
Truly the worst exoerience ever. I wanted to deposit a check in the amount of $8000 written to my late sister into her estate account. I was first told that it wasn't possable, I needed to have the check written to the Estate of. I then asked to speak with a premier or relationship banker. He comes out and tells me I should be greatful that he is meeting with me and goes on to tell me they can't deposit the check.
