The policies some of these companies make are just out-of-this-world dark patterns. I tried redeeming my points for cash, but they said they only redeem points in increments of $25. So if you have $49 worth of points, they can only send you $25. I asked why can they only redeem in increments of $25 and not the precise amount, and they said, "I don't know, that's just Wells Fargo's policy." I just laughed at how ridiculous the policy is and redeemed my $25 and closed the account.
The teller that helped me did his best to assist me, however the manager (tall gentleman w/ glasses, lots of jewellery and, brown hair) was not inclined to assist at all. He lacked any concern for the situation, which is fine he is not required to, but he made NO real effort to come to any solution. He was very arrogant and not solution orientated. Disappointing behaviour from a "leader".
If you don't already have an account, don't bother. If you already bank with WF, consider closing your account and banking with a local credit union. WF is an extremely scummy bank, their customer service is absolute crap and they will provide you exactly 0 benefits of banking with them. Also they'll secretly start charging you service fees you never agreed to, which is illegal. Avoid WF if you enjoy peace of mind
