I visited the branch to change my account type, but was treated with suspicion by the banker, Juan Gomez. Rather than asking clarifying questions to understand why an out-of-state client might be present for routine account maintenance, he took my driver’s license without explanation and left me waiting after simply saying, “I’ll be right back.” I felt mistreated and profiled based on my race, as an Asian customer.
