Went in to open a checking account. 2 of the customer service reps are sitting in their booths doing nothing. Guy who looks perhaps middle eastern quickly asks me what he can help me with. Told him I wanted to open a checking account. He said well we have someone coming in at 11am (45 minutes) that might be able to help you. Really? I walked out. Deposited a check. All was great till the next day when I was sent a notification stating the deposited check was on a hold and i was to contact the check issuer. Check issuer stated wells fargo cashed that check on October 26th. Called Wells Fargo, they claimed the check was not cashed as funds were not available. I called the check issuer again and they sent me proof (check image) that wells fargo cashed the check. Now Wells Fargo is saying I have to wait till November 4th for the money to be in my account. Terrible customer service!!! After we waiting 20 minutes they told me can’t help us with anything! And kicks us out!
Unfortunately service has really declined if you need a banker. Fraud doesn't pick a day off. If you need service and you follow the instructions from the fraud dept, you would think you could get the service you need. Instead you need an appointment which is not available at least for another week. AND the banker is out jogging while you sit there waiting. He returns and is not very nice as he refuses to see you. And this does not include the tellers.
