If you pay your property taxes by mail, & someone commits a federal crime by stealing & altering your check, don't expect Wells Fargo to refund you after you were defrauded. That "up to $250,000 FDIC insured bla bla bla" sticker on their windows is just for show. The same goes for if a company owes you money & sends it to the wrong (a closed) Wells Fargo account.
