Got pulled in for a DOT inspection and flagged for the steer tire tread — officer said it was OOS and had to be replaced right away. I had a mechanic inspect it, and he confirmed there was wear but said it was still within DOT standards. Despite that, the officer wouldn't budge on the citation or the OOS order, so I had no choice but to replace the tire on the spot before I could get back on the road. Cost me significant time and money over a call that a certified mechanic disagreed with.
Not good people
They always need excuses to give you violation. If everything is okay they won't give you no violation.
