Thanks for saving me the time of going there. I won't. I had the exact same experience of being snubbed and ignored in an "upscale" old school type furniture store in Zebulon that was also musty and snooty. Plenty of clerks, few customers, all customers being ignored except one man who must have had some kind of appointment to buy a truckload of furniture or something. These places apparently feel they are so "special" that they don't need to worry about selling to the "little people" who drop in. Shame.
Well, at least there was Cup A Joe on the way back! I came in to purchase a Wesley Hall Sofa. I knew EXACTLY what I wanted the style number, fabric whole 9 yards... ready to order. I had not worked with anyone at this store and picked out what I wanted on my own. Upon entry my friend and I were snubbed; never spoken too and in fact we went to see if our car happened to get towed we felt so unwanted. A great buying experience – I got wonderful design help from David Swicegood with a problem room and when the furniture was delivered the delivery men did an excellent job placing it in my home. I would shop there again and recommend Wayside Furniture to anyone.
Wayside Furniture, Capital Blvd, Raleigh – We heard good and bad about this store so we decided to see for ourselves. What a waste of time. We were not greeted by anyone and we noticed another customer who came in minutes behind us also was not recognized by anyone. We were the only customers in the store. Two employees were chatting near the office and one was grazing about near the front desk. Not a great selection, the store smelt musty and the upholstered furniture looks as if it may have been there for a few years.
