My husband and I have lived at the Waterford Grand for six months. This is a modern version of a retirement residence, something I don’t believe existed a decade ago. It is very welcoming, offers many amenities, caring staff, and a dining lounge for meals. We have made friends with many other residents and are proud to show off our new home to family and friends.
The Waterford Grand is my father’s 4th retirement home in as many years (even though it was my first choice for him when he moved to Ottawa ;-)). The staff has been exceptional in helping him to adjust. The food is 5*, as are the programs and entertainment. He is busier and happier than I have seen him in a very long time. We moved our mom into a one bedroom apartment on an independent living floor of The Waterford Grand in May of 2025. The entire team at The Waterford have been great with mom during this transition time. Mom really enjoys her dining experience as the food is excellent and the dining staff is very accommodating. There are a number of activities offered to the residents, mom enjoys the puzzle room, having her daily hot chocolate in the main lobby and looks forward to Friday nights in the Panache. We have had an incredible experience partnering with The Waterford Grand. I am the Principal of an alternative high school program, and we have collaborated on two major projects with their team and residents—both of which have been absolutely wonderful. We worked closely with Activity Director Oliver and the residents on a Jazz Night and a Tea & Cookies event, where we brought youth from Ottawa Community Housing to connect and engage with residents.
