I am a local funeral director and unfortunately get to know the nursing homes in the area pretty well. Upon visiting WSL my first impression as I walked in the door was how clean the building smelled. It was warm and smelled freshly disinfected and fresh without being over powering. Every staff member greeted me with kindness and offered to assist me. The only reason I am not leaving a 5 star review based on my experience is the fact that the rooms are slightly outdated. First and formost this place has a F rating with the State of Illinois and is close to being shut down from the state as management and owners only care about the money and refuses to buy soap and other items needed so clean the place to save money and refuses to repair the building as its very run down and has major issues as mold, water leaks and after some digging they treat employees like trash and there is a admit named John and he lies and refuses to fix things and employees are walking out as the abuse they get from o... read more
Working at WSL was one of the most unorganized and unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had. Management had little to no communication, and the overall environment was chaotic. Instead of focusing on improving the quality of care or supporting staff, they spent more time trying to boost their image — even going so far as to pay employees to leave positive Google reviews.
