On 26AUG2026 I had made preparations for appealing the fair market value of my home which (I felt) was assessed too high. If you're appealing your property tax assessment, here's something I learned that may help you. When I filed my appeal, I submitted a written discovery request asking the Tax Assessor to provide the evidence they intended to rely on. In response, I received a single-page list of comparable properties. I have tried calling about property tax for the last couple Of hours and the auto machine just puts your through a constant loop and you don’t actually reach anyone… what a piece of absolute garbage! And you wonder why people hate dealing with government employees….

5.9.2025 - I went to this office for the 1st time since I recently purchased a home in Walton County. McKayla is very professional and helpful. She manually processed my Homestead Tax Exemption application and informed me that I would received a final document in the mail.
