Siv Sjoholm has been 100% great in helping us pick out furnishings for our whole house. She has a great eye for detail and her taste in decorating is beyond compare! Smithe is fortunate to have her as a representative! The furniture that has been purchased is excellent, too! About a week ago I was in the Walter E. Smithe Store located in Oak Brook. I would give them zero stars if I could but regrettably, that’s not an option. My friend and I were completely ignored. Not only were we offered no help but every sales person including the woman at the front desk averted their gaze rather than acknowledge our presence. If you’re feeling a little too full of yourself, stop by this store so you can be ignored and brought down a peg or two.
Have not received bedroom & living room furniture to date. We were told it would be 9-11 weeks for delivery, as these were custom pieces, which is a long time but understandable. We were to be notified two weeks after the order was placed to update the order status. We were not. I had to reach out myself for this update for which they set the expectation. When I finally heard back, they said the estimated delivery would be late Sept/early Oct (4-6 weeks later than the original estimated delivery date). OK fine. This past wee... read more
Very poor customer service. I had to contact Walter E. Smithe several times to request a refund from a previous purchase and return. It has been nine days and I was told it will take a few more days before the refund is returned to my card. The original salesperson never returned my call as promised.
