I received a good exam. I ordered contact lenses. It was nice. Everyone was friendly.
Pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a vision doctor that's set up in a Walmart. Save yourself the time and hassle and head on down to Costco instead. Or Blink. Or literally anywhere else in town.
So I was quoted a price over the phone just to find there's more to it. And the Dr won't be there till Friday. So I went to Stanton optical and guess what? No games!
The “vision center manager” is incredibly rude and hostile over the phone when asked for basic information about your own medical profile. When I asked for her name so I could report her to management, she refused and hung up. Have since had to report her to HR and am waiting on a call back from an actual Walmart manager about what action will be taken about this, as well as from the doctor she takes calls for. My son and I both had eye exams at Walmart Vision and Glasses today. I can not overstate how wonderful the staff was. From the guy doing the pre-check, to the optometrist and all the way to the guy helping us find frames and doing the check out. They may not always provide glasses in an hour but being treated so well makes it worth the wait. We had a fun, fast and accurate exam. I used to dread eye exams. But now I can say I am actually looking forward to next year.
